:: Boarding ::
Our state of the art kennel offers a separate feline suite with 12 cages and 2 condos
(for multiple cats) along with a playroom where cats can play individually on numerous
"climbing, scratching and swinging toys. On the canine side, we have 42 indoor runs,"
16 indoor/outdoor runs and 9 medium size cages. Canvas cots are available to each
animal upon request. The dogs are excercised three to four times a day in one of
three outdoor pens. We have recently added a large fenced area containing 8 fifteen
foot runs and one wide open space for our guests to really stretch their legs.
All of our guests enjoy Hills Science Diet meals unless otherwise specified by their
owners. Each boarder is observed daily to ensure that any health or behavioral problems
are addressed as quickly as possible. Our caring kennel staff and trained technicians
make your pets feel as safe and comfortable as their own pets.
:: Grooming ::
Lack of proper grooming can present health problems for your pet. If a pet is unkempt, signs of illness may go unnoticed. A dull coat or excessive shedding may be indicators of more serious problems. A matted pet can be an attractive place for flies and other parasites to feed. Medicated baths provide soothing relief for animals with allergies or otherwise irritated skin.
Eads Animal Hospital offers full grooming services six days a week. Each groom includes a bath, a nail trim, ear cleaning and anal glands expression along with the requested cut, trim or shave down. Our groomers have over 50 years of combined experience between them.
:: Boutique ::
Come visit our boutique, located in the lobby area of the hospital. You will find training and grooming aids as well as gourmet treats and dental supplies. We stock toys that promote the health and happiness of your pet and some toys that are just for fun! You can also find seasonal items and great gift ideas suitable for animal lovers. We would be glad to make special orders for your unusual or hard-to-find items.
:: MicroChip ::
Home Again is a pet identification and retrieval system. A microchip is injected between
the shoulder blades of your pet. You then register with the national database. A lost pet
can then be scanned at any participating animal shelter or hospital and the owner will be
notified of their location. Home Again provides a painless and inexpensive way to ensure
the safety of your pet.
Home Again also provides an ID tag bearing your pet's microchip number and a toll-free
phone number. These phones are manned 24 hours a day to allow individuals to aid in
the return of your pet.
:: Pet Healthcare ::
Puppy and Kitten Care
When introducing a new pet to your household, you should schedule a physical exam to ensure your new puppy or kitten is in good health from the start. You should have them tested for deadly diseases such as heartworms and lymes. Protect them from parasites like fleas, ticks, hookworms and roundworms and vaccinate to prevent rabies, distemper, bordetella and giardia. After the age of 6 months, your pet should be spayed/neutered to reduce cancer risk and to curb inappropriate behavior.
Senior Care
If your pet is more than seven years old, he/she may need special care to stay happy and healthy. As pets age, their organs gradually lose functioning ability. They may experience kidney, liver and heart disease, diabetes, cancer or hyperthyroidism. Regular exams help identify problems early on. Many conditions, if diagnosed early enough, can be completely reversed or controlled for long periods of time.
Weight Management
As in people, dogs and cats have an ideal weight. Achieving and maintaining that weight reduces the risk of health problems such as arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, respiratory difficulties and skin complaints. When your pet is at its ideal weight, you won't be able to see its ribs, but you should be able to feel them easily under the skin. You should be able to see a "waist" just behind the end of your pet's rib cage. Eads Animal Hospital has a full line of prescription diets to help your pet reach and maintain its ideal weight and to extend the life of your pet. |
